How to install OpenVPN-AS software?

Last modified: 29 December 2011

In order to install the Access Server, you will need to download the Access Server package and place it somewhere on the intended server host where an administrator can have access to it. All of the operations below must be performed as the "root" user.

Fedora/CentOS/RHEL:

Download and save the appropriate RPM file. Then go to the directory where you placed the downloaded RPM and enter the following command line, substituting the RPM filename:

rpm -i openvpn-as-1.6.0-Fedora10.x86_64.rpm

This should successfully install the Access Server package.

Note that if you ever have to remove the Access Server installation, the command to use is:

rpm -e openvpn-as

Ubuntu/Debian:

Download and save the appropriate Debian package (.deb) file. Then go to the directory where you placed the downloaded file and enter the following command line, substituting the package filename:

dpkg -i openvpn-as-1.6.0-Ubuntu9.amd_64.rpm

This should successfully install the Access Server package.

Note that if you ever have to remove the Access Server installation, the command to use is:

dpkg -r openvpn-as
